Hit and run

Had our first big scare this evening. Found an actual hole in the wall place for dinner tonight while getting the laundry done. It was a local place that looked exactly like a gyros joint on the Ave for those familiar with the 206. Served up a nice pita with what they call Kabab meat. As we were strolling over to grab a little something for the morning before we hop an early train I managed to get full on hit by a car in the crosswalk. It was a dangerous little intersection not controlled by a light where the drivers are staring in the opposite direction to merge with traffic as pedestrians approach the crosswalk from their blind side. I made the mistake of reading the car and not the drivers face which Christina said never looked our way. I stepped out and the lady literally never saw me till I was on her hood where she eventually hit the break and not the gas. Thanks to my cat like speed and reflexes the injuries are minor. I attempted to jump when the car struck me which those who’ve seen me play basketball is about 2 inches, but it was just enough to stay on the high side of the collision. I quickly rolled off the side of the car where my leg and feet narrowly missed getting tangled in the front tire. In the end it looks like I’m just going to have a nice big burn down the front of my shin where the tire got me and a couple of large bumps have formed on my leg. Christina and the lady in the car both had quite a scare while I just kept trying to get Christina to tell me how cool it looked. I’m not going to lie though, when I replay it in my head I don’t see how my leg or toes ( I was wearing my flips) kept from getting under that car.
