Hitting the ground running

As promised, here is a photo from our trip to Disneyland. I love this one. We took this within minutes of stepping into Disneyland. According to Matt, seeing Mickey outside his house in Toontown is a rarity, let alone getting a picture with him on Main Street. In my innocence of all things Disneyland, I had no idea this was a privilege. I was just so excited to see the Big Guy to begin my day! Just one of many moments that made my first time at Disneyland so magical.

On another note, as the title to this post implies, the wheels are truly in motion now for Europe and relocation. While it is actually physically impossible to hit the ground running (trust me - I read the science behind it), I certainly feel like that's what we've done since we returned from California, and now especially that I've wrapped up the on-campus portion of my classes at Gonzaga. We were already pumping our legs and our energy toward the finish line, but now we've actually hit the pavement and the momentum is really picking up. We have passed the three month mark, which hit us with a huge surge of adrenaline.

Moving truck has been reserved for our first leg to Spokane. Europe destinations to be finalized this weekend. Airline tickets to be purchased early next week. Shopping for Europe gear (as if I really needed an excuse to shop) has commenced. Truck to be posted for sale next week.

We're still a ways off from the finish line, but definitely getting into our stride. The next six weeks is the big grind. Work. School. Exercise. Plan. Sleep. Not much else. But thankfully, at the very moment that I expect we will get exhausted, the end will come into view and it will be a time of excitement and celebration. I'm so looking forward to that moment, but for now I will keep my gaze focused, my rhythm steady, and watch the scenery fly by in a blur.
