Nashville is awesome and so is marriage

Matt recently gave me a bad time about my blog for sounding like I don’t want to move to Nashville. Oh, and he also mentioned that I sound like a hate marriage in at least one of my posts. While this couldn’t be further from the truth, at least not the Nashville part (just joking Matty), I thought I would ease his mind by listing out the top 10 things about Nashville I’m most excited for:
#10 The accents. Even the most educated people sound like they have a hillbilly bone somewhere. The best are the people who work in tourism and try to cover up their accents, but then accidentally slip up with a big ol’ Southern twang.
#9 The celebrities. It’s like L.A. minus the paparazzi.
#8 The sports. Vince Young and Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans. Vanderbilt and the SEC conference. The Tennessee Vols. NASCAR. Enough said.
#7 The driving. Posted speed limits are a suggestion. Driving like a bat out of hell is more like it.
#6 The cheap housing. Mansion for quarter of a million? Sold!
#5 The people. Easily the friendliest place we’ve ever been. Everyone is sweet as pie, loves their country, their mamas, and Jesus is everyone’s friend.
#4 The Sundays. Everyone goes to church and nothing is open until noon. Real BBQs (not the grills we call BBQs in the Northwest) can be seen all around town preparing Sunday supper.
#3 The country music. It greets you when your plane arrives and is with you in every shop, restaurant, bar, and street corner. If you can’t stand country music, Nashville ain’t for you.
#2 The beautiful scenery. Green rolling hills, wide open spaces, sunshine, blue skies, and warm temperatures. Think western Washington minus the crappy weather.
And the number one thing I’m most excited for...
#1 The (my) love. Sharing this whole crazy adventure with my best friend whom I love more than anything. I wouldn’t want to make this journey with anyone else.
