The year of excitement

I’ve never considered myself to have a very exciting life. Mildly entertaining, yes. Exciting, no. Though people looking in from the outside seem surprisingly interested in all of the chaos that I manage to drag along behind my supposed simplicity. Perhaps it is the PR spin-doctor in me that just makes nothing sound really interesting. That’s what they pay me the big bucks for anyway.
In any case, if there was ever a time that I would admit life is exciting, or at least verging on exciting, it is now. After two years of searching for a new place to call home, Matt and I have finally landed on Nashville, Tenn. Yes, we are leaving the Evergreen State to see if the grass really is greener in Nashville. As if that weren’t enough, we are planning an adventure through central Europe for the month before our move. Seven countries in four weeks. My feet hurt already.
But, of course, it’s never enough for me to just stop at one or two big things. Anyone who knows me knows I insist on cramming my life full of events just to ensure that there are, in fact, 24 hours worth of activities on my daily planner. Over the next six months I will celebrate my 26th birthday, visit Disneyland for the first time, finish my first year of my master’s degree, plan a month in Europe and a relocation across the country, quit my job and attempt to get a new one before moving to Nashville (though unemployment/being penniless will not stop us from heading to the land of sweet tea and honky tonks), say goodbye to the only friends, family and home state I have known in my 26 years, take said month-long trip to Europe, and then U-Haul my life across the country.
All in all, 2010 might be the turning point toward a truly exciting life. At a minimum, at least I’m keeping up with my overachiever status. Getting A’s in school was starting to get boring anyway.
